About Solar Funding
Learn what this independent solar funding navigator and enquiry-referral website does, what it does not do, and how its guidance is produced.
Our purpose
Solar Funding is an independent UK information website. Its purpose is to help households identify possible official public support routes for solar — England's Warm Homes: Local Grant, Wales's Nest — verify them directly at the source, and avoid funding scams. Separately, and only if you choose to, you can record an enquiry so the website operator can match you with vetted, MCS-certified installers for comparison.
The website is not a solar installer, lender, broker or government service. It does not currently employ or represent an installation crew. No installer is automatically contacted when an enquiry is submitted, and using the funding checker never triggers one either.
How the referral model works
The funding-route checker runs entirely in your browser and is never submitted anywhere — it does not determine eligibility or reserve funding. If you separately choose to request installer quotes, that enquiry is added to the authenticated central MoreLeadz lead dashboard so the website operator can manage and follow it up. The submission itself is not an installation booking, a grant application, or a guarantee that a provider covers your postcode.
Who writes the guides
Pages are prepared by the Solar Funding editorial team using clearly identified sources — principally GOV.UK, the Welsh Government and the Competition and Markets Authority. No named external solar-industry reviewer is currently attached to the site; each guide says so. We will add reviewer biographies only when real people have agreed to review the material.
What we will not publish
We do not create fake reviews, accreditations, local offices, response-time claims, or savings or eligibility guarantees. We do not claim to determine funding eligibility ourselves — that decision always sits with the named public body.
