About Solar Funding
Solar Funding helps UK households find official help with solar costs. We are an information site. We are not an installer, a lender or a government service.
Why this site exists
Many households want solar panels but cannot tell which help is real. Some schemes cover only certain homes, and some have closed. As a result, people often waste time on offers that do not fit them, or fall for fake ones.
We exist to make that first step easier, because a clear start saves time. For example, we explain how the Warm Homes: Local Grant in England and Nest in Wales work. We also show you where to check the facts yourself.
What we do
We write plain guides about official support schemes. Each guide links to the public body that runs the scheme. The official page always decides, because rules and budgets change.

- We show you the warning signs of a funding scam.
- We offer an optional way to ask for installer quotes.
While the funding checker runs in your browser, it sends nothing to us, and it does not decide whether you qualify.
What we do not do
We never decide who gets funding. Only the public body that runs a scheme can do that. We also do not install panels, lend money or give financial advice.
Furthermore, we do not promise free panels, savings or approval. If a site makes those promises, treat it with care. Our page on scams and red flags shows what to look for.
How quote requests work
Asking for quotes is a separate step, and it is always your choice. Nothing in the checker or the guides starts it. If you choose to send an enquiry for installer quotes, we record your details so that suitable installers can reply.
That request is not a booking or a grant application. In addition, it does not mean any installer covers your postcode. You can read how we handle your details in the privacy notice.
How we write and check
The Solar Funding editorial team writes every guide. Since facts change, we use official sources first, such as GOV.UK and the Welsh Government. Our editorial policy sets out the rules we follow, and our sources page lists what we use.
Each guide shows the date we last checked it. However, if you spot a mistake, please tell us through the contact page. We fix errors in place and review the page again.
Our promises to you
We will not invent reviews, awards or local offices. We will not hide how the site earns money. Because trust matters here, we keep advice and sales clearly apart.
